The city protects much of the island as conservation land and has rebuilt carefully since Hurricane Ian. A water slide works on Sanibel, but it takes more planning than on the mainland: causeway timing, sandy or native-landscaped yards, and rental-home permissions. Delivery to Sanibel from about $75 — exact fee calculated from your address at checkout. 'Ding' Darling National Wildlife Refuge (https://www.fws.gov/refuge/jn-ding-darling), the Sanibel Lighthouse (https://mysanibel.com/543/Lighthouse-Beach-Park-Information) at the east end and the island's bike paths are what visitors and residents love most. The Causeway Islands (https://www.leegov.com/parks/beaches/causeway) are a popular beach stop on the way. Slide parties belong at private homes; beaches and conservation lands are not setup locations. Sanibel Community House at 2173 Periwinkle Way is the island's main multipurpose event venue and offers rentals. The Sanibel Recreation Center also rents rooms. Neither publishes an inflatable policy online, so confirm directly. All public beaches and the Ding Darling refuge are open; the Sanibel Fishing Pier remains closed. ## Yard space and setup in Sanibel Many Sanibel yards use native plants and sand instead of turf, and homes are often elevated with parking underneath. A slide needs a level, firm area. Send photos of the spot when you book so we can confirm, and tell us about stairs and where the truck can park. Barrier-island sand does not hold a stake, so Sanibel setups use sandbag or water-barrel anchoring. Newer elevated construction can mean stair-only access with no usable ground-level space — worth checking before you book. Our team sets up every rental, anchors it correctly for the surface, and returns for pickup at the end of your rental period. ## Heat, sun and water tips for Sanibel Sanibel's Gulf breeze is pleasant, but sun on sand is intense and wind can build. Plan morning sliding, use a canopy, keep everyone hydrated, and remember inflatables cannot run in strong, gusting wind. Use a drinking-water spigot at moderate flow. Keep runoff on your property and away from native plantings and wetlands. ## Permits, HOAs and host rules The City of Sanibel has its own rules and many neighborhoods and condo associations restrict inflatables. For vacation rentals, get the owner's or management's written permission. Ask the city or your association if you are unsure. - J.N. Delivery windows are confirmed the day before your event. Parking is genuinely limited across the island and there is no on-street parking in many areas, so coordinate with us in advance about where the truck can stop and how far it is to the setup spot. The $6 causeway toll applies on the way in. ## Choosing the right slide for your Sanibel yard We currently rent 12 water slides, from the 17' Baja Blast Single Lane up to the 31' CAT 5 Single Lane w/ Slip n Slide Attachment. Single-lane slides (17' Baja Blast Single Lane, 22' CAT 3 Single Lane, 31' CAT 5 Single Lane w/ Slip n Slide Attachment) fit tighter Sanibel yards and younger riders. Dual-lane slides let two kids race side by side and keep the line moving at bigger parties. Slides with a slip n slide attachment (24' Jawsome Dual Lane w/ Slip n Slide Attachment, 26' Lava Falls Dual Lane w/ Slip n Slide Attachment, 31' CAT 5 Single Lane w/ Slip n Slide Attachment) need the most open length, so measure carefully before you choose one. The height in each slide's name is a good first guide: taller slides need more open ground and clear overhead space, and they suit older kids. Each product page lists the full dimensions — compare them against your measured grass, leaving a few feet on every side for the crew to work and for guests to walk around. ## How a Sanibel water slide rental works Choose your slide and check your date online. When you reserve, a deposit holds the slide and the remaining balance is due at or before delivery. The day before your party we confirm your delivery window. On the day, our crew arrives at your Sanibel address, walks the setup spot with you, lays down a ground tarp, inflates and anchors the slide, and connects the water. We show an adult how to run the hose and the blower and go over the rider rules. After the party, we deflate, clean up and haul everything away. Keep an adult watching the slide the whole time it is in use, and clear it right away for lightning or strong wind. Not sure a slide is the right fit?
