What happens before delivery?

Vargas Rentals monitors conditions and will contact you if weather changes the safety plan. If severe weather is forecast, the documented option is to reschedule your reservation for a future date. Reservation changes or cancellations are allowed up to 48 hours before the event date under the general cancellation policy.

What happens during the rental?

Inflatables cannot be operated during lightning or in strong, gusting wind conditions. If conditions change, stop use and contact Vargas Rentals for guidance. Never use an inflatable when the crew has determined that setup or operation is unsafe.

Does rain automatically cancel a rental?

The documented policy addresses severe weather rather than promising an automatic cancellation for every shower. Contact Vargas Rentals before delivery if rain or storms are in the forecast so the team can review the reservation and available reschedule dates.

How Southwest Florida weather actually behaves

Planning around Fort Myers-area weather is easier once you know the pattern. From roughly June through September, most days follow the same rhythm: a clear, hot morning, building clouds by early afternoon, a short and often intense thunderstorm somewhere between two and five in the afternoon, then clearing skies by evening. That is why so many local parties are scheduled for late morning or early evening rather than mid-afternoon — the storm window is predictable enough to plan around.

Atlantic hurricane season runs June 1 through November 30, with the most active period for Southwest Florida generally falling between mid-August and October. A named storm in the forecast is a different situation from a routine afternoon shower, and it is the case the severe-weather policy is written for. Watch the forecast in the week before an event in that window and call as soon as it changes.

The dry season, roughly November through April, is the most reliable stretch of the year for outdoor events in Lee County. It is also the busiest booking period for that reason, so a January or February Saturday should be reserved further ahead than a July one.

How to plan a rain-resilient event

Pick a time of day, not just a date

Morning and early-evening windows sit outside the usual summer storm hours. Shifting a party two hours earlier is often more effective than changing the date entirely.

Add shade and cover

A tent gives guests, food and gifts somewhere to go when a shower passes through, and it works just as hard against Southwest Florida sun as it does against rain. Tents ship on the same delivery as your inflatable.

Have an indoor fallback for the guests

The inflatable stays outside, but a garage, lanai, church hall or covered pavilion gives everyone somewhere to wait out fifteen minutes of rain without ending the party.

Tell us early, not late

What happens to the rest of your order?

Weather affects different items differently. Inflatables are the most weather-sensitive part of any order because they run on a continuous blower and present a large surface to wind. Tents are installed and anchored separately and have their own handling. Tables, chairs, concession machines and most extras are simply equipment that should be kept dry, and they are usually the least affected part of a rescheduled order.

Setup surface matters more in wet conditions too. Grass that is already saturated can make staking and access harder, and standing water is a reason to stop use regardless of what the sky is doing. If your yard holds water after a storm, mention it when you book so the crew can plan the placement, or consider a driveway or covered-pad setup with sandbag anchoring instead.
